1. Invitation letter: In Chinese, hand-written by my wife. Use the
word love, miss, want you to see how I am living etc. Be short.
2. I-134. State that we will provide room and board, ROUND-TRIP
transportation, living expense, and medical insurance or medical cost.
3. A letter to the consulate officer, stating the purpose of the trip
and emphisizing how important the family reunion is and why we cannot
go back to visit the parents right now. Also state that we can
afford the cost. One page only. This is the cover page of their
visa application.
4. Bank statements. I asked my bank to provide a letter stating the
balance on my accounts and my in-laws used the letter to apply for
the visa. However later we applied visa extension, I learnt that the
statement of the last 2-3 months is better than a bank letter. This
is according to INS. Our application gets delayed and INS asked for
the statements.
5. The copy of our passport and GC. (or H-1B approval note,
employment letter, I-94 etc.)
6. A letter from my in-law's employer (or village people's committee
if they are in the country) saying that they are allowed to have a 6
month (1 year) vacation and they can resume their employment upon
coming back. This is important. It is also important for visa
extension.
7. Visa application form, with photo. (Download the forms from the
department of state web site and fill in for them. They need to
obtain the forms from the consulate general and copy the information
over.)
8. If you just have a newborn baby, don't say it. Otherwise the
consulate officer may think that the purpose of the trip is just for
babysitting.
9. Other evidences that can show the in-laws' family tie in the home
country.
10.最好给个旅行的完整计划，对签证官和边检比较有说服力
国内那边最好有父子母子关系公证。

More tips:
1. Submit notarized copy for every document if you cannot submit the
original.

2. Download application documents from Canadian Embassy in Beijing's
website, not the Canadian Immigration's. Here is the link: http://www.canada.org.cn/beijing/ch/visa/kits.htm

3. Inidacate your parents want to stay for 3 months only so they
won't need medical examination. The visa officer will give them 6
months in most cases even if you only ask for 3 months.

4. Submit the file in person or ask your friend to submit in person
for your parents (your friend needs to bring an authorization letter
from you and his/her photo ID). Your parents or the friend can pick
up the visas with their passports the next business day if applying
in person.

2）邀请人和父母的关系公证书，这个可由父母在国 0869;用户口本去公证处办理，也可由
在国外的子女在当地的律师行办理；

3）在加邀请人及其家属名单；

4）邀请人的定居纸（Landing Paper)或公民证的复印件或加拿大护照复印件；

5）邀请人最近一次加拿大税局（Revenue Canada)的报税结果通知(Notice of
Assessment)原件；

6）说明邀请人收入情况的工作/受雇证明（Employment Letter)原件；

7）反映邀请人过去六个月以来日常收支状况的银行 5777;明（Bank Statement)原件；

8）邀请人过去六个月的工资单(Payroll Stubs)原件；

二、国内被邀请人（父母）方需要提供的文件：

1）签证受理费，费用是：一次入境签证：加币75元或& #20154;民币400元，多次入境签证：
加币150元或人民币850元；

* 申请赴加探访签证的每一位申请人都需交纳受理费A 292;该费用概不退还

* 如果申请人准备在访加期间赴美旅行，无须办理多 425;入境签证

2）有效中国护照；

3）四张护照尺寸照片；

4）每人2份用英文或法文填写完整的签证申请表；

5）每人一份用中文和英文或法文填写完整的家属表 5307;

6）2张有被邀请人通讯地址的未用过的信封（中国邮&# 23616;统一编码#7信封）。

* 以上所有向大使馆递交的材料除探亲申请表外，全% 096;将被退回到申请人手中。

* 在没有准备好上面列出的所有材料之前不要递交申# 831;。去使馆递交申请的，如果材
料不完整，申请将不会被接收。通过邮寄来的申请 558;基于所递交的材料进行办理。不
能提供所要求材料将导致邀请人的申请被拒绝。

三、付费方式

1）以人民币方式付费：

以人民币付费可用邮政汇款单或现金付费方式。大 351;馆只接受将确切钱数汇给?#21152;拿
大使馆签证处?#30340;邮政汇款。申请人的姓名（包括中 5991;和汉语拼音）和出生年月日应
明确标写在汇款单上。同时，申请人必须在申请材 009;中附上他的邮政汇款收据单的清
晰的复印件作为付款凭证。

2）以加币方式付费：

以加币付费可采用国际保付支票、国际银行汇票、 269;际邮政汇款单或现金付费方式。
保付支票和银行汇票必须将确切的钱数汇给The Receiver General for Canada，必
须有一年的有效期并能在一个具体的加拿大银行分 903;机构进行转换。加拿大使馆无法
接受汇给?#21152;拿大使馆?#25110;?#21152;拿大使馆签证处?#30340;支票、 银行汇票或国际邮政汇款
单。使用现金付费必须交纳规定所要求的准确钱数A 292;使馆无法用加币找零钱。

3）人民币或加币现金付费须由申请人在使馆递交申 5831;表格时一并交纳。

四、递交方法

申请材料可以通过邮寄方式递交或到大使馆签证处 403;面递交。北京使馆签证处对外办
公时间为每周一至周四上午8：15到11：00。申请人若直&yuml; 09;到大使馆递交申请表，则
第二个工作日即可得到批准与否的结果；若以邮寄 041;式递交申请表，约一个月左右可
得结果。

探亲申请表可以到各地中国旅行社下属分社代办签# 777;处领取，或者直接写信到加拿大
北京（香港）大使馆索取，加拿大驻北京大使馆地 336;为：
