OTTAWA — Carleton University’s slow-moving project to build a garage over the O-Train tracks at the north end of its campus got a break Wednesday: City council agreed to shut down the train north of the Carleton station on weekends through the fall to allow construction to continue. Carleton had hoped it could get key elements of the garage finished over the summer, when OC Transpo suspended train service for track improvements. But it didn’t. Council heard Wednesday that although a lot of work has been done, the city and the university haven’t even finalized a site plan, an important agreement on what the final structure will look like.
