Ottawa - The selection process is underway for the public art that will be integrated into the realignment of Trim Road. The Art Selection Committee will consider public feedback when selecting the winning proposal. An opportunity to meet the artists and view their proposals will take place on Wednesday, November 6.
Date: Wednesday, November 6
Time: 6 to 8 p.m.
Location: Shenkman Arts Centre, 245 Centrum Boulevard
Proposals from five artists are currently under consideration:
The City of Ottawa commissions local artists’ works for display in public spaces from a percentage of funds set aside for municipal development projects. Public art is found in municipal buildings, open spaces, pedestrian corridors, roadways, and transit ways. It creates a unique sense of place, a destination, focal points for activity, and or meeting places.
