Osifu’s Discourse (March 1st, 2011)
該到位的就會到位，一切皆有機緣。
該歸位的就會歸位，一切皆有機緣。
該正位的就會正位，一切皆有機緣。
The one who is supposed to reach the designated position will get into the position. Everything has its own conditions.
The one who is supposed to return to the prearranged position will return to the position. Everything has its own conditions.
The one who is supposed to conform to the right position will conform to the right position. Everything has its own conditions.
機緣到了，會各就各位的。
機緣到了，會各司其職的。
機緣到了，會各負其責的。
機緣到了，會各顯其能的。
When the needed conditions arrive, everyone will take his or her own position.
When the needed conditions arrive, everyone will carry out his or her own duty.
When the needed conditions arrive, everyone will take charge of his or her own responsibility.
When the needed conditions arrive, everyone will show his or her own capability.
機緣到了，會各行其事的。
機緣到了，會各接有緣的。
機緣到了，會各救有緣的。
機緣到了，會各度有緣的。
When the needed conditions arrive, everyone will take his or her own individual action.
When the needed conditions arrive, everyone will receive his or her own predestined friends.
When the needed conditions arrive, everyone will save his or her own predestined friends.
When the needed conditions arrive, everyone will cross over his or her own predestined friends.
當然，機緣不是靠等的。
當然，機緣不是靠要的。
當然，機緣不是靠求的。

Of course, the needed conditions don't depend on waiting.
Of course, the needed conditions don't depend on request.
Of course, the needed conditions don't depend on pleading.
Of course, the needed conditions don't depend on imagining.
密鑰在心
Osifu曰：密中密法的心法是：心正、心善、心誠、心凈、與佛相應。
The secret key is the mind!
Osifu says: The mind method of the Secret-in-Secret Cultivation Method is to be righteous, kindhearted, sincere, pure and responding to the Buddha.
做到了，機緣就到了。
做不到，機緣就不到。
當下做到，當下機緣就到。
If you manage to do it, the needed conditions will arrive.
If you cannot manage to do it, the needed conditions will arrive nowhere.
If you can manage to do it at the present moment, the needed conditions will arrive right away.
如是
龍女成佛 就是如此。
八歲之龍女由於受持法華經之功德而即身成佛。
So it is!
So it is the way that the dragon girl became a Buddha.
The eight-year-old dragon girl attained her flesh-body Buddhahood due to the virtues and merits of accepting and reciting the Lotus Sutra。
據法華經卷提婆達多品載，龍女即娑竭羅龍王之女，年甫八歲，智慧猛利，諸佛所說甚深秘藏悉能受持，乃於剎那之頃，發菩提心，得不退轉。
According to the records in the Lotus Sutra---Chapter Devadatta, the dragon girl, who was daughter of the dragon king Sagara, was eight years old with sharp wisdom. She could understand and was able to accept and recite all profound secret store preached by all Buddhas. In the turn of a hand, she brought forth the resolve for Bodhi and reached the level of no regression.
復以一寶珠獻佛，以此功德願力，忽轉女成男，具足菩薩行。
Again she presented a precious jewel to the Buddha. With the virtues and merits as well as the power of her vow, she suddenly turned her female image into a man endowed with all practices of a Bodhisattva.
剎那頃住於南方無垢世界，坐寶蓮華中，成正等覺，具足三十二相、八十種好，廣為人天說法，娑婆世界之菩薩、聲聞、天龍八部、人、非人等皆遙見而歡喜敬禮。
In an instant, she was proceeding to the Southern pure land taking a seat on a jeweled lotus and attaining the ultimate enlightenment. With thirty-two features and eighty characteristics, he expounded the wonderful dharma for humans and gods widely. The Bodhisattvas, hearers, dragons and others of the eight divisions of the heavenly deities，human, non-human beings in the Saha land descried that and paid reverent obeisance with great joy.
靈鷲山上 龍女現身：
在妙法蓮華經提婆達多品中，有一段敘述八齡龍女即身成佛的故事。
At the Vulture Peak, the Dragon Girl Appeared:
In the Lotus Sutra---Chapter Devadatta, there is a paragraph described the story about the dragon girl attaining the flesh-body Buddhahood.
娑竭羅龍王威震四海，他最小的一位公主，聰明伶俐，善根深厚，年齡才八歲的時候，就有很多不平凡的奇跡，「龍女」，大家都這樣尊敬的稱呼她。
The dragon king Sagara had a prestigious reputation among the four seas, and his youngest princess was very clever and sensible with deep virtuous root. She had many unusual miracles when she was eight years old and all respectfully called her the dragon girl.
小小年紀的龍女，生性就和別的女孩子不同，好吃的糖果，好玩的玩具，在她都不感興趣，她最喜歡的就是聽聞宇宙的玄奇，人生的奧秘。
The very young-aged dragon girl, whose natural disposition was very different from other girls’, was not interested in delicious candies or fun toys. Her favorite thing is to listen to the mysticism of the universe and the mysteries of life.
有一天，大智慧的文殊菩薩，端坐在千葉的大蓮花之上，出現在娑羅竭龍王的宮中，他代表佛陀宣說微妙的法理，八歲的龍女，深深的被感動，他仰慕思念佛陀，請求文殊菩薩即刻帶她到靈鷲山去禮拜佛陀，聽聞佛法。
One day, Bodhisattva Manjusri, the embodiment of great wisdom, sitting on a big lotus of a thousand petals appeared in the dragon king Sagara’s palace. He expounded the profound dharma on behalf of the Buddha, and the eight-year-old dragon girl was deeply touched. She admired and missed the Lord Buddha and asked Bodhisattva Manjusri immediately to take her to the Vulture Peak to worship the Lord Buddha and listen to Buddha Dharma。
靈鷲山上，蒼松翠柏，曼陀羅花吐露芬芳，諸大菩薩、諸大羅漢所雲集的法華會上，幼年的龍女，跟隨文殊菩薩，就參予其間。
At the Vulture Peak, there were green pines and verdant cypresses, and Datura flowers were emitting the pleasant fragrance. All the great Bodhisattvas and great Arhats gathered at the assembly of Lotus. The young dragon girl followed the Bodhisattva Manjusri participating in the assembly.
童年龍女 得陀羅尼：
The Childhood Dragon Girl Attained the Dharani:
佛陀講完了妙法蓮華經的一乘道理後，有一位智積菩薩就請問文殊菩薩道：“大德文殊師利！我請問你，像佛陀宣說的妙法蓮華經，甚深微妙。世所悉有，若有眾生，勤加精進，遵照此經修行，能不能很快的成佛呢？”
After the Buddha finished expounding one vehicle theory of the Lotus Sutra, one called Bodhisattva Wisdom Accumulated asked the Bodhisattva Manjusri : “My Lord Manjusri, I want to ask you that the Lotus Sutra expounded by the Buddha is a profound, subtle and wonderful treasure among sutras and a rarity in the world. Will there be anyone who is able to attain the Buddhahood quickly by earnestly and diligently practicing in accordance with this sutra? ”
文殊菩薩稍微沈默了一會就回答道：“大德！據我所知，娑竭羅王的龍女，年才八歲。她聽聞佛陀講說此經以後，就已經證得陀羅尼了。”
The Bodhisattva Manjusri replied after a quick silence: “My Lord, as far as I know, the dragon king Sagara’s daughter was only eight years old. She attained the Dharani after hearing the Buddha expound this sutra. ”
智積菩薩聽到文殊菩薩這麼一說，很感意外，以佛陀的首座弟子，大智慧的文殊菩薩，沒有贊揚諸大菩薩和諸大羅漢，而為一個小女孩捧場。在智積菩薩的意思，八歲小女孩，無論怎麼說，也不能證得陀羅尼。
After the Bodhisattva Wisdom Accumulated heard the Bodhisattva Manjusri saying so, he was very surprised. As the Buddha’s first disciple, Bodhisattva Manjusri of the great wisdom did not praise the great Bodhisattvas and great Arhats but a little girl. According to the understanding of the Bodhisattva Wisdom Accumulated, an eight-year-old young girl could not attain the Dharani no matter how clever she was.
智積菩薩搖搖頭，表示難以起信的樣子。文殊菩薩又再說道：“大德！八歲的龍女，年齡雖小，而她的智慧利根，卻非一般人可及。佛陀所宣講深奧的秘藏，她都能知解，佛陀指示修學的行門，她都能受持。她已經發大菩提心，真真實實的得不退轉。”
The Bodhisattva Wisdom Accumulated shook his head as it was hard for him to believe that. The Bodhisattva Manjusri again replied: “My Lord, though the eight-year-old dragon girl is very young, her wisdom and sharp faculties are much more profound than any ordinary people’s. She comprehends the profound secret store preached by the Buddha and she could accept and recite the cultivation methods instructed by the Buddha. She has brought forth the resolve for the great Bodhi and truly reached the level of non-backslide. ”
智積菩薩仍然以不信的口吻說道：“文殊師利菩薩！我見到佛陀釋迦如來，在無量劫以來，就修學難行的苦行，積功累德，從未中斷，然後方成正覺。我不信八歲的女孩，便成正覺。”
The Bodhisattva Wisdom Accumulated still said in an unbelievable tone: “Bodhisattva Manjusri, I saw that before the Buddha Sakyamuni Tathagata attained the ultimate enlightenment, he had practiced hard ascetic practices to accumulate virtues and merits for limitless eons and never interrupted. I don’t believe an eight-year-old girl can attain the right enlightenment.”
智積菩薩的話剛說完，龍女忽然出現在他的眼前，並且溫和莊重的對智積菩薩頂禮。
Just right after the words of the Bodhisattva Wisdom Accumulated had come to an end, the dragon girl suddenly appeared in front of him and worshiped to him mildly and solemnly.
一位已經登地的菩薩，在這麼一位女孩之前，不得不感到非常尷尬。
不信女身 速得成佛：
For a Bodhisattva having attained the saint fruit, he had to feel so embarrassed in front of such a little girl.
Disbelieve that the female body can attain the unsurpassed Buddhahood promptly.
智積菩薩，見到龍女，不好意思再說什麼，而一向看輕女人的舍利弗尊者，也很不服氣的對龍女說道：“我們的文殊菩薩，說你不久將獲證無上道，這個事情叫我們難以相信！”
Seeing the dragon girl, the Bodhisattva Wisdom Accumulated was too embarrassed to say any more. However, the venerable Shariputra, who always underestimated the women, said to the dragon girl in an ill-affected tone: “Our Bodhisattva Manjusri said that you would attain the unsurpassed Way before long, which was difficult for us to believe.”
“這不是相信不相信的問題，因為事實就是這樣。”在看輕女人的舍利弗之前，龍女也不甘示弱。
“It is not a matter of believing or disbelieving what he said, because it is just the fact.” The dragon girl was also reluctant to show weakness in front of Shariputra who always underestimated the women.
“女身垢穢，非是法器，五障纏身，雲何能得無上佛道？”舍利弗不客氣的說。
“A female’s body, soiled and defiled with the Five Skandhas, is not a dharma-vessel, how could you attain the unsurpassed Buddhism Way?” said Shariputra unreservedly.
文殊菩薩看不過去，解釋道：“尊者舍利弗！你不可以這麼說，女人的身體、容貌，和男人相較或有不同，但佛性平等，不但男女一樣，佛陀說，大地眾生皆有如來智慧德相。青年的男女，才是菩薩的悲願、熱情、勇敢、進取、犧牲的最好象徵。”
The Bodhisattva Manjusri felt that it was more than enough and explained: “My venerable Shariputra, you cannot say it like that. Female body and looks may be different from male, but the Buddha Nature is equal. The Buddha said that not only women and men but all the sentient beings on the earth have the Tathagata wisdom and virtue. Young men and women are the best symbols of the Bodhisattva’s compassionate resolve, enthusiasm, courage, enterprising spirit and sacrifice.”
舍利弗尊者，什麼事情都可以隨緣，唯有對於女人，總覺得男子才是無上至尊的。
The venerable Shariputra could accept anything according to situations but only for the women, he always felt that the man was superior to a woman.
現在，尤其一個才八歲的龍女，他那裏相信她很快的成佛呢？雖然有文殊菩薩的解釋，舍利弗不再開口了，但他心中仍有男女不平等的觀念。
At that time, especially for an eight-year-old dragon girl, how could he believe she would attain the Buddhahood in no time? Although there was the explanation from the Bodhisattva Manjusri, Shariputra no longer spoke. Deep down he still had the unequal concept between men and women.
舍利弗記起了過去在維摩丈室中，給天女戲謔的一幕，他總以為，就算女人也有大的修行，那裏能說很快的成佛呢？
Shariputra reminded himself that he was fooled by the celestial beauty in the meditation room of Vimalakirti. So he always thought that even if women had great practices, how could they attain the Buddhahood so quickly?
坐寶蓮華 成等正覺
Sitting on a Jeweled Louts and Attaining the Ultimate Enlightenment
龍女知道舍利弗的根性，他想，在有著深厚法執的人前，說上再多的道理，也是空費唇舌，不若用事實說明，教你總不能不信。
The dragon girl knew the groundwork of Shariputra, and he thought that it would waste his breath to say too much in front of somebody who had a profound attachment to dharmas. One couldn't deny the fact if the reality proved it.
當時龍女的身上，有一顆價值很貴重的寶珠，她就用雙手捧著送去給佛陀，佛陀接受以後，龍女回過頭來，走到智積菩薩和舍利弗面前，很有禮貌的問道：“剛才我把寶珠奉獻給佛陀，佛陀慈悲的接受，像這樣的時間，快不快呢？”
At that time, the dragon girl took a very precious jewel with her, so she presented it with both hands to the Buddha. After the Buddha accepted it, she turned her head around and walked to the front of the Bodhisattva Wisdom Accumulated and the venerable Spariputra, saying in a very polite tone: “I presented the precious jewel to the Buddha and the Buddha compassionately accepted it—was it fast like that ? ”
“很快的！”智積菩薩和舍利弗都這樣的回答。
“Very fast!” both of the Bodhisattva Wisdom Accumulated and the venerable Spariputra replied.
“請你們運用神力觀看，我馬上就能成佛，比獻珠的時間還快上幾倍哩！”
“Please employ your supernatural powers to watch that I shall attain Buddhahood even several times as fast as that!”
龍女說後，會中大眾，皆見龍女忽然間變為男子，具足菩薩行，即往南方無垢世界，坐在大寶蓮華之中，成就無上正等正覺，普為十方世界一切眾生，演說無上甚深微妙之法。
Soon after the dragon girl’s statement, the members of the assembly saw the dragon girl instantly changing into a man and possessing all the practices of a Bodhisattva, immediately proceeding to the southern pure land, taking a seat on a jeweled lotus and attaining the unsurpassed ultimate enlightenment, expounding such unsurpassed profound wondrous dharmas for all the sentient beings in the ten directions.
龍女很多,為何分別呢？
我們參悟其義，不搞佛學研究。
There are many dragon girls. Why do we have to distinguish?
We comprehend the meaning implied in it but don’t engage in Buddhism Research.
密鑰在心
The secret key is your mind.
Osifu曰：心直路直，心曲路曲。
Osifu曰：心正路正，心邪路邪。
Osifu曰：心平路平，心險路險。
Osifu曰：心凈路凈，心濁路濁。
Osifu曰：心轉路轉，心執路死。
Osifu曰：心有路有，心空路無。
Osifu says: A straightforward mind, a straight way; a crooked mind, a crooked way.
Osifu says: A righteous mind, a righteous way; an evil mind, an evil way.
Osifu says: A flat mind, a flat way; a vicious mind, a vicious way.
Osifu says: A pure mind, a pure way; a defiled mind, a defiled way.
Osifu says: A changed mind, a changed way. The mind with attachment gets the way with a dead end.
Osifu says: Where there's the mind, there is the way. The mind gets empty and the way disappears.
Osifu曰：密鑰在心。
Osifu曰：成佛在心。
Osifu曰：提升在心。
Osifu曰：墜落在心。
Osifu曰：凈化在心。
Osifu曰：升華在心。
Osifu曰：一切在心。
Osifu says: The secret key is your mind.
Osifu says: Attaining the Buddhahood depends on your mind.
Osifu says: The ascension depends on your mind.
Osifu says: The falling down depends on your mind.
Osifu says: The purification depends on your mind.
Osifu says: The sublimation depends on your mind.
Osifu says: Everything depends on your mind.

The Bodhisattva Wisdom Accumulated shook his head as it was hard for him to believe that. The Bodhisattva Manjusri again replied: “My Lord, though the eight-year-old dragon girl is very young, her wisdom and sharp faculties are much more profound than any ordinary people’s. She comprehends the profound secret store preached by the Buddha and she could accept and recite the cultivation methods instructed by the Buddha. She has brought forth the resolve for the great Bodhi and truly reached the level of non-backslide. ”
智積菩薩仍然以不信的口吻說道：“文殊師利菩薩！我見到佛陀釋迦如來，在無量劫以來，就修學難行的苦行，積功累德，從未中斷，然後方成正覺。我不信八歲的女孩，便成正覺。”
The Bodhisattva Wisdom Accumulated still said in an unbelievable tone: “Bodhisattva Manjusri, I saw that before the Buddha Sakyamuni Tathagata attained the ultimate enlightenment, he had practiced hard ascetic practices to accumulate virtues and merits for limitless eons and never interrupted. I don’t believe an eight-year-old girl can attain the right enlightenment.”
智積菩薩的話剛說完，龍女忽然出現在他的眼前，並且溫和莊重的對智積菩薩頂禮。
Just right after the words of the Bodhisattva Wisdom Accumulated had come to an end, the dragon girl suddenly appeared in front of him and worshiped to him mildly and solemnly.
一位已經登地的菩薩，在這麼一位女孩之前，不得不感到非常尷尬。
不信女身 速得成佛：
For a Bodhisattva having attained the saint fruit, he had to feel so embarrassed in front of such a little girl.
Disbelieve that the female body can attain the unsurpassed Buddhahood promptly.
智積菩薩，見到龍女，不好意思再說什麼，而一向看輕女人的舍利弗尊者，也很不服氣的對龍女說道：“我們的文殊菩薩，說你不久將獲證無上道，這個事情叫我們難以相信！”
Seeing the dragon girl, the Bodhisattva Wisdom Accumulated was too embarrassed to say any more. However, the venerable Shariputra, who always underestimated the women, said to the dragon girl in an ill-affected tone: “Our Bodhisattva Manjusri said that you would attain the unsurpassed Way before long, which was difficult for us to believe.”
“這不是相信不相信的問題，因為事實就是這樣。”在看輕女人的舍利弗之前，龍女也不甘示弱。
“It is not a matter of believing or disbelieving what he said, because it is just the fact.” The dragon girl was also reluctant to show weakness in front of Shariputra who always underestimated the women.
“女身垢穢，非是法器，五障纏身，雲何能得無上佛道？”舍利弗不客氣的說。
“A female’s body, soiled and defiled with the Five Skandhas, is not a dharma-vessel, how could you attain the unsurpassed Buddhism Way?” said Shariputra unreservedly.
文殊菩薩看不過去，解釋道：“尊者舍利弗！你不可以這麼說，女人的身體、容貌，和男人相較或有不同，但佛性平等，不但男女一樣，佛陀說，大地眾生皆有如來智慧德相。青年的男女，才是菩薩的悲願、熱情、勇敢、進取、犧牲的最好象徵。”
The Bodhisattva Manjusri felt that it was more than enough and explained: “My venerable Shariputra, you cannot say it like that. Female body and looks may be different from male, but the Buddha Nature is equal. The Buddha said that not only women and men but all the sentient beings on the earth have the Tathagata wisdom and virtue. Young men and women are the best symbols of the Bodhisattva’s compassionate resolve, enthusiasm, courage, enterprising spirit and sacrifice.”
舍利弗尊者，什麼事情都可以隨緣，唯有對於女人，總覺得男子才是無上至尊的。
The venerable Shariputra could accept anything according to situations but only for the women, he always felt that the man was superior to a woman.
現在，尤其一個才八歲的龍女，他那裏相信她很快的成佛呢？雖然有文殊菩薩的解釋，舍利弗不再開口了，但他心中仍有男女不平等的觀念。
At that time, especially for an eight-year-old dragon girl, how could he believe she would attain the Buddhahood in no time? Although there was the explanation from the Bodhisattva Manjusri, Shariputra no longer spoke. Deep down he still had the unequal concept between men and women.
舍利弗記起了過去在維摩丈室中，給天女戲謔的一幕，他總以為，就算女人也有大的修行，那裏能說很快的成佛呢？
Shariputra reminded himself that he was fooled by the celestial beauty in the meditation room of Vimalakirti. So he always thought that even if women had great practices, how could they attain the Buddhahood so quickly?
坐寶蓮華 成等正覺
Sitting on a Jeweled Louts and Attaining the Ultimate Enlightenment
龍女知道舍利弗的根性，他想，在有著深厚法執的人前，說上再多的道理，也是空費唇舌，不若用事實說明，教你總不能不信。
The dragon girl knew the groundwork of Shariputra, and he thought that it would waste his breath to say too much in front of somebody who had a profound attachment to dharmas. One couldn't deny the fact if the reality proved it.
當時龍女的身上，有一顆價值很貴重的寶珠，她就用雙手捧著送去給佛陀，佛陀接受以後，龍女回過頭來，走到智積菩薩和舍利弗面前，很有禮貌的問道：“剛才我把寶珠奉獻給佛陀，佛陀慈悲的接受，像這樣的時間，快不快呢？”
At that time, the dragon girl took a very precious jewel with her, so she presented it with both hands to the Buddha. After the Buddha accepted it, she turned her head around and walked to the front of the Bodhisattva Wisdom Accumulated and the venerable Spariputra, saying in a very polite tone: “I presented the precious jewel to the Buddha and the Buddha compassionately accepted it—was it fast like that ? ”
“很快的！”智積菩薩和舍利弗都這樣的回答。
“Very fast!” both of the Bodhisattva Wisdom Accumulated and the venerable Spariputra replied.
“請你們運用神力觀看，我馬上就能成佛，比獻珠的時間還快上幾倍哩！”
“Please employ your supernatural powers to watch that I shall attain Buddhahood even several times as fast as that!”
龍女說後，會中大眾，皆見龍女忽然間變為男子，具足菩薩行，即往南方無垢世界，坐在大寶蓮華之中，成就無上正等正覺，普為十方世界一切眾生，演說無上甚深微妙之法。
Soon after the dragon girl’s statement, the members of the assembly saw the dragon girl instantly changing into a man and possessing all the practices of a Bodhisattva, immediately proceeding to the southern pure land, taking a seat on a jeweled lotus and attaining the unsurpassed ultimate enlightenment, expounding such unsurpassed profound wondrous dharmas for all the sentient beings in the ten directions.
龍女很多,為何分別呢？
我們參悟其義，不搞佛學研究。
There are many dragon girls. Why do we have to distinguish?
We comprehend the meaning implied in it but don’t engage in Buddhism Research.
密鑰在心
The secret key is your mind.
Osifu曰：心直路直，心曲路曲。
Osifu曰：心正路正，心邪路邪。
Osifu曰：心平路平，心險路險。
Osifu曰：心凈路凈，心濁路濁。
Osifu曰：心轉路轉，心執路死。
Osifu曰：心有路有，心空路無。
Osifu says: A straightforward mind, a straight way; a crooked mind, a crooked way.
Osifu says: A righteous mind, a righteous way; an evil mind, an evil way.
Osifu says: A flat mind, a flat way; a vicious mind, a vicious way.
Osifu says: A pure mind, a pure way; a defiled mind, a defiled way.
Osifu says: A changed mind, a changed way. The mind with attachment gets the way with a dead end.
Osifu says: Where there's the mind, there is the way. The mind gets empty and the way disappears.
Osifu曰：密鑰在心。
Osifu曰：成佛在心。
Osifu曰：提升在心。
Osifu曰：墜落在心。
Osifu曰：凈化在心。
Osifu曰：升華在心。
Osifu曰：一切在心。
Osifu says: The secret key is your mind.
Osifu says: Attaining the Buddhahood depends on your mind.
Osifu says: The ascension depends on your mind.
Osifu says: The falling down depends on your mind.
Osifu says: The purification depends on your mind.
Osifu says: The sublimation depends on your mind.
Osifu says: Everything depends on your mind.
