Ottawa –Rideau Street has fully re-opened to two way traffic between Chapel Street and the Cummings Bridge.
This is the final section of the Rideau Street Renewal project, a $28.9 million initiative to replace aging infrastructure, enhance the streetscape and stimulate tourism and economic development in the area.
All OC Transpo routes utilizing Rideau Street will return to normal, as will pedestrian, cyclist and traffic flows. Top level asphalt work and landscaping will be performed in the spring/summer including the removal of overhead hydro cables; however this work will not significantly impact traffic.
The Rideau Street Renewal is an Ottawa on the Move project.
