Judge rejects sweeping publication ban in terrorism trial of Khurram Syed Sher

OTTAWA — An Ottawa judge has rejected a federal prosecutor’s request for an unprecedented and sweeping publication ban that would have prevented reporting on the trial of an accused terrorist. A prosecutor had asked the judge to order a ban that would have kept the details of Khurram Syed Sher’s trial from being published for several months until after the trial of two other accused terrorists was finished.
