Journalists with an Italian television program are in Ottawa this week, asking for locals’ help as they investigate the case of missing twin Swiss children and their Canadian-born father, CTV reported Monday. The girls, six-year-old twins named Alessia and Livia Schepp, were kidnapped and taken from the Swiss village where they lived by their father, Matthias Kaspar Schepp, in February 2011. The crime prompted an international manhunt that only grew more intense after the father killed himself in southern Italy a few days after the kidnapping. The children, however, were never found despite pleas of the girls’ mother.
