Ottawa – Starting Monday, March 3, the southbound lanes of Churchill Avenue will be closed between Byron Avenue and Carling Avenue. Southbound traffic will be detoured via Byron Avenue to Kirkwood Avenue.
Transit riders are advised that OC Transpo Route 150 (Tunney’s Pasture / Lincoln Fields) will be detoured east of Churchill Avenue along McRae Avenue, Richmond Road, Kirkwood Avenue and Carling Avenue. OC Transpo Route 16 (Main / Britannia) will also be detoured, north along Broadview Avenue and Byron Avenue. Temporary bus stops will be added at the intersection of Churchill Avenue and Byron Avenue while the detour is in place.
These closures are necessary to complete the Churchill Avenue Integrated Road, Sewer and Water Rehabilitation, a $21.4 million project that will upgrade existing sewer lines, overhead and underground utilities and develop new streetscaping on Churchill Avenue between Carling Avenue and Byron Avenue. For more information, visit ottawa.ca.
The Churchill Avenue Integrated Road, Sewer and Water Rehabilitation is an Ottawa on the Move project. Ottawa on the Move is about keeping our community and economy moving forward through strategic investments in a number of transportation, water, and sewer projects to build a better city and create jobs.
