March figures hint at turnaround in high C. difficile rates at Ottawa Hospital

The Ottawa Hospital continues to struggle with its persistent problem with Clostridium difficile. But incomplete figures for March suggest a turnaround may be in sight. In the 12 months ending in February, the hospital’s General campus reported 115 new C. difficile infections. While that was 11 fewer than in the previous 12-month period, it was also easily the most of any hospital in Ontario.
