The City of Ottawa does not enforce the province’s pit bull ban, but other jurisdictions including Toronto, Hamilton, Oshawa, Windsor and Kitchener-Waterloo enforce the law. In fact, Kitchener-Waterloo has been policing a bit bull ban since 1997. It was the first municipality in Ontario to prohibit the powerful dogs.
