Let's talk business first then technology. Unless you define your market segment carefully, you can't ensure your product will be successful. Do some SWOT - Strength/Weakenss/Opportunity/Threaten analyses. You can find such people in MBA or engineering management.

I have interest on the marketing side. If I can help, let me know. Just for interest and meeting creative people.

If you know what I'm talking about, SWO of SWOT is out of question. As for the T, I don't see that's a problem at all.

You can think of Divx encoder/decoder(I think you are talking about chip). Do you think you are the only one? No. Divx standard is controlled by a company. And may be full of big companies in such market - TI, Motorola, AMD, Intel, Nivdia, ATI, Matrox, 3Dlab. How do you believe you can capture enough market share and grow? Talking about technologies, you can say we are smart. But our competitors are also smart. In addition, they have enough marketing,sales,manufacturing resources.

I am not to discourge you. Good idea needs to be discussed many times before it becomes a good business opportunity.

Every one want to win. But here is a sentence: 胜兵胜而求战，败兵战而求胜。

At last, I don't think crack/hack/reverse engineering are good approaches. We are to do business not do crimine.

I'm not talking about chip, chips support divx are on the market now, from one or two manufacturers. Any divx player on the market? How many ppl looking for it?

BTW, divx is no hacked product... not anymore..

Ok. Divx player... How are the market leaders in consumer electronics market? - SONY, JVC, SAMSUNG etc. Can you beat them? How?

I know little about Divx, but talking about Mpeg4, I know a company in Montreal who has product doing mpeg4 hardware real time encoding and software decoding, is that something you are talking about?

In my understanding, DivX is an implementation of MPEG4.
