A wood shop at 3031 Stonecrest Rd. in West Carleton went up in flames Saturday.
Ottawa Fire Services received a number of 911 calls reporting heavy smoke shortly before 1 p.m.
When firefighters arrived, the structure, a 100-foot-by-40-foot wood shop, was engulfed in flames.
One person had been in the building, but managed to get out before firefighters arrived.
The building later collapsed. No one was injured.
The cause of the fire and the amount of the damage have not yet been determined.
