Police are searching for the driver of a vehicle that fled the scene after a cyclist was killed near Kemptville late Sunday afternoon.
Sgt. Kristine Rae, spokeswoman for the the Ontario Provincial Police, said the male cyclist was hit at about 5:15 p.m. while riding on Townline Road in Oxford Station.
With traffic investigators and identification teams still at the crash site late into the evening, few details of hit-and-run were available. The name of the cyclist was not released.
However, police asked the public’s help to locate a silver or grey pickup truck that, according to Rae, would likely show collision damage.
Anyone with information can contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
