Ottawa music-lovers are familiar with the annual commuting woes that come as fans stream out of LeBreton Flats and wait for Transitway buses after RBC Royal Bank Bluesfest shuts down for the night.
OC Transpo announced Tuesday it is doing all it can to help solve the transit bottleneck. It is scheduling additional trips at the beginning of the evening and between 11 p.m. and 11:45 p.m.
Routes 94, 95, 96, 97 and 98 will be increased in frequency, according to a press release, “to accommodate the crowds leaving at the end of the night.” Route 107, which will replace the O-Train after 10 p.m. during the summer, will also operate more frequently.
OC Transpo warns route 8 will suffer some delays near Booth Street while the festival runs. It also reminds those who use Para Transpo that direct service will be available to and from the festival.
