Ottawa – Mayor Jim Watson and Councillor David Chernushenko will host a Lansdowne cycling update for the community and media on Sunday, July 6.

A number of improvements to cycling infrastructure in the area have made cycling to Lansdowne an excellent option. Councillor Chernushenko will lead a cycling rally departing from the Glebe Community Centre, 175 Third Avenue, at 1:15 p.m. to promote the opening of Lansdowne as a destination for Ottawa cyclists, both for major events and for everyday use. The cyclists will arrive at the Lansdowne Park skating court at approximately 1:25 p.m.

Date: Sunday, July 6
Time: 1 to 2 p.m.
Location: Lansdowne Park skating court

Parking available on nearby streets

Opportunity for photos and video:

There will be an opportunity for photos and video as Councillor Chernushenko and residents arrive at the site and park their bikes in the corral. Mayor Watson and Councillor Chernushenko will also be available to answer questions from the media.

Immediately following this cycling event, Ottawa Sports and Entertainment Group (OSEG) will host a separate event for residents of the Glebe, Old Ottawa South and Old Ottawa East only. For information on this event, please contact OSEG at 613-232-6767, ext. 8229.
