Calypso water park in Limoges faces another pair of injury lawsuits, with a total of $2 million in claimed damages.

In one suit, Ottawa’s Katherine Noah, 20, has alleged that there wasn’t enough water at the end of the “Orange Bobsleigh” ride when she went to the park in July, 2012.

She claims this caused the raft she was sitting on to hit the edge of the landing pool and throw her onto a concrete pool deck. Noah had allegedly not been given any directions or cautions and she claims she was holding the correct handles on the raft.

Noah is seeking $1.75 million in damages for injuries causing back pain and headaches in the incident in the suit filed June 30.

In a separate suit filed May 28, Katherine Stokes, from North Kawartha, claims she was sucked underwater twice in the wave pool July 25, 2010.

Her head was smashed against the pool wall several times, the lawsuit alleges, causing a brain injury and cuts to her face.

Stokes is seeking $250,000 in damages in the incident.

None of the claims have been proved in court.

Calypso is scheduled for court in September on 20 safety-related charges laid by Ontario’s Technical Standards and Safety Authority, unrelated to the two suits.
