The Ontario Provincial Police are investigating two unrelated sudden deaths in Renfrew overnight.

The first occurred in the early evening on Friday when a 65-year-old man began choking while eating food around a campfire. He was pronounced dead at the location at Matawanooka Line in the Township of Greater Madawaska.

In the second incident, two campers fell off an embankment in Horton Township at about 2 a.m. on Sunday morning. Police, fire and paramedics assisted but could not revive a 24-year-old woman. A 20-year-old man who had fallen about 10 metres suffered only minor injuries.

The Ontario Coroners Office is leading both investigations.
