Three people are homeless after a fire destroyed their home early Thursday morning.
Ottawa Fire Services responded to a 911 call reporting a fire at 976 Arkell Street at 1:14 a.m. reporting flames visible from the house and a vehicle in the attached garage.
When fire fighters arrived they found the house fully involved and a vehicle in the garage on fire.
Immediate efforts were made to contain the fire and prevent adjacent properties from being involved.
The main body of the fire was knocked down at 2:03 a.m. Damages are estimated at $450,000 for building and contents. The home will not be habitable. There were no injuries.
Ottawa Fire Services is investigating.
