An investigation has been launched to find the cause of an early morning fire in Gatineau that left seven homeless.
At about 2 a.m., firefighters were called to a small apartment building on De la Baie Street in old Gatineau’s Riverains district.
Responders found the building’s residents bundled up on the sidewalk.
Two city buses were called to shelter the victims, as well as allowing firefighters to warm up under the extreme cold.
Firefighters were able to bring the fire undercontrol after two hours.
There were no major injuries reported.
There was no immediate estimate of the dollar value of the damages.
