Get out your umbrellas again, Ottawa.
A weather system expected to cause significant rainfall in Ontario and parts of Quebec Tuesday caused Environment Canada to issue a special weather statement Monday afternoon.
People in the Ottawa Valley and the area surrounding Gatineau can expect between 15 and 40 mm of rain or more Tuesday and into Tuesday night, according to the statement, as a low pressure system moves from west to east.
The system could affect southern Ontario for the next several days. Rain is forecast for Ottawa from Tuesday through Thursday, with a possibility of thunderstorms on Tuesday during the heaviest rains.
Environment Canada said it was monitoring the situation.
