Keep those umbrellas out, Ottawa.
An updated special weather statement from Environment Canada Tuesday morning cautions that significant rain may track through the capital region in the wake of a storm system headed toward north-central Ontario.
Right now, theagency says that accumulations of anywhere from 15-40 mm are possible in the capital region starting Tuesday afternoon and evening.
The agency urges residents to keep an eye on the forecasts through the day, as storms and thunderstorms can develop quickly.
Tuesday’s high is expected to be 23 C. the low is forecast for 18 C.
Environment Canada says the rain should move into Wednesday, with continued risk of thunderstorms in the afternoon and early evening, although the accumulation is expected to be much less, an estimated five millimitres.
Rain is also predicted for Thursday and Friday.
