A police negotiator was called Tuesday morning to a home in the Bayshore area for a suicidal man who barricaded himself in a home with a knife.
The incident began when paramedics were called to a home on Scrivens Street near Carling Avenue for a medical call.
As paramedics were assessing a woman, a man with a knife appeared in the house. Paramedics got the patient out of the house and called police around 9:10 a.m.
Police said no one else was inside the home with the man and he doesn’t pose a threat to the public.
A negotiator was sent to the scene to try to talk to the man.
