Police in western Quebec continue to search for a suspected truck thief following a high-speed chase involving three police departments that ended up in Val-des-Monts.
The pursuit began in Gatineau at around noon when patrol officers spotted a GMC truck that had been reported stolen Thursday night by the truck’s owner.
The officers initiated the pursuit, but were quickly joined by both the Sûreté du Québec and MRC des Collines police as the chase crossed through other jurisdictions.
The suspect managed to elude police, but the truck was located shortly after at the Richelieu supermarket in Val-des-Monts, about 40 kilometres north of Gatineau.
Officers are searching a wooded area and lake near Perkins for the driver.
