Ottawa – The City is advising parents and children that the play area at Lansdowne Park, which includes the play structure and skateboard ramps, is temporarily closed– allowing construction crews time to complete the final touches.
With the extended period of inclement weather last week, the rubberized surface in the play area could not be installed in time for weekend festivities. It will require at least a week for the installation and curing of the rubberized surface, which will provide a safer and more accessible play surface.
Construction at Lansdowne will be continuing until later this fall. As a result, temporary closures of certain areas will be required during that period.
In addition, the City also advises pedestrians and cyclists travelling through Lansdowne Park to practice awareness and caution around the heavy vehicles and equipment. Your safety is our priority.
