Ottawa police are expected to give an update Tuesday on their investigation into the break-and-enter at Justin Trudeau’s Rockcliffe Park home.
No one was injured, but Sophie Grégoire-Trudeau and the couple’s three children left their home after discovering the break-in on Aug. 16 in the morning.
A source who asked not to be identified said a handwritten note suggesting that the family should lock its doors was placed on a line of “five or six large butcher knives” in the home.
According to another source, unspecified articles were found gathered at the back door with a note saying those items could have been stolen.
Last Friday, police released surveillance video of a person of interest believed to be connected to the break-in. The grainy footage showed a bearded man apparently speaking on a cellphone.
