A Gatineau woman with a blood-alcohol level three times the legal limit is facing impaired driving charges after being stopped by police early Saturday.
The MRC des Collines said they were en route to hospital in Gatineau to deal with another suspected impaired driver who had earlier crashed a car in Val-des-Monts when they spotted the 24-year-old woman driving erratically on Highway 5 in Gatineau.
The officers suspected she was impaired and stopped the woman, who appeared to be severely intoxicated.
The MRC des Collines officers then called the Sûreté du Québec who took over the investigation because the arrest was on the highway.
The woman was charged with impaired driving and her vehicle was impounded for 30 days and license suspended for 90 days.
She is scheduled to appear in court in December.
