An Ottawa police officer has died by suicide, multiple police officers have confirmed.
The officer was found dead Sunday in his office at the city police headquarters on Elgin Street. Police believe he shot himself.
News of his death comes the same day as a Canadian Police and Peace Officers Memorial was being held.
