Ottawa – The City of Ottawa will be holding a photo opportunity on the first day of the Special Advance Voting, which runs from October 1 to 3. The combination of the three-day Special Advance Voting days, the traditional Advance Voting Days on October 9 and 18, and Voting Day on October 27 provides electors with a total of 53 voting hours to make their mark.

All media are asked to follow the following rules of conduct:
- Upon arrival at the voting area at City Hall, all media must report to City communications staff.
- Media coverage must not interfere with the smooth operation of the voting place.
- The media should respect the privacy of individuals in the voting place and the secrecy of the ballot. Camera crews and still photographers may take general visuals of individuals who are entering the voting location, as well as the voting process – registering, being handed a ballot, walking to the privacy screen, and bringing the ballot inserted in a privacy sleeve to the Senior Deputy Returning Officer for processing in the vote tabulator.
- All media must respect the wishes of residents who do not want to be photographed.
- There are no interviews or scrums allowed within the voting location.
