A 65-year-old Edmonton man is to appear in court Friday morning to face a charge of dangerous driving causing death after his wife was struck and killed Thursday afternoon.
Pamela Mimnagh, 55, from Arnprior was struck by a vehicle on Charles Street around 2:40 pm.
She was taken to hospital where she died of her injuries.
The woman’s husband, Clive Mimnagh, 65, from Edmonton was arrested at the scene after an apparent domestic dispute.
Charles Street remained closed Friday morning between Daniel Street South and Isabella Street.
At the site Thursday evening, police were still gathering evidence, including articles of clothing that were strewn on the road. They paid particular attention to a Ford half-ton truck with Alberta licence plates parked on one side of Charles Street facing Daniel Street. The back of the truck was loaded with goods apparently taken from a residence on the street.
Charles Street is mainly composed of residential homes. It intersects with Daniel Street South, a largely commercial strip lined in the immediate area by motels, real estate agencies and a used car lot.
More to come.
