Enjoy it while it lasts, because it doesn’t get much better — temperature-wise, that is.
According to Environment Canada, Ottawans enjoyed record balmy temperatures Tuesday, with the high hitting 25 degrees at about 1 p.m. That’s a slight nudge above the previous record of 24.4 set in 1956 — and a big difference from the average high for this time of year of 13.
Naturally, there’s a downside to these nice temperatures; the next few days will likely be rainy.
Showers that began Tuesday night should end Wednesday morning and the temperature will creep back up to about 22. But then, once again, there’ll be rain on the horizon during the night. Ditto for Thursday and Friday with every likelihood of showers even as temperatures hover in the unseasonable range of 16 to 22.
Come the weekend, it’s back to the normal 10-to-13-degree range. Some good news, though; the odds of rain drop to about 30 per cent for both Saturday and Sunday.
