A 61-year-old Etobicoke man was killed and a 65-year-old woman from Bradford, Ont. was critically injured Saturday afternoon when the car they were travelling in left the westbound Highway 401 and careened into the ditch near the Moulinette Road exit in South Stormont Township, west of Cornwall.
Police continue to investigate the cause of the crash, which occurred shortly after 2:10 p.m.
The identities of the victims were not released.
The passing lane of Highway 401 westbound is closed and traffic is being directed into the driving lane in the area as police process the scene.
