Loblaw is voluntarily recalling an organic pasta sauce that may contain plastic pieces, the company said in a release.
President’s Choice Organics brand Primavera Pasta Sauce, 700 ml, with UPC “0 6038369005 2 07” and expiration date 2015 AU 07 is being recalled as of October 24.
It was sold between October 20 and 24 at these stores in Ontario: Extra Foods, Fortinos, Freshmart, Loblaws, nofrills, Wholesale Club, Real Canadian Superstore, Valu-mart, Westfair, Your Independent Grocer, Zehrs and affiliated independent stores.
In Atlantic Canada, the sauce was sold at Dominion (in Newfoundland only), Freshmart, nofrills, Save Easy Atlantic Superstore and affiliated independent stores.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says there have been no reported illnesses associated with consumption of the product.
CFIA says all consumers should check for recalled products and throw them out or return them to the store where they were purchased.
