Eight children were taken to hospital Wednesday afternoon with minor bumps and bruises after a collision involving a school bus and an OC Transpo bus.
The collision happened just before 2 p.m. on Innes Road at Esprit Drive, east of Tenth Line Road.
The bus was bringing the students back from a school trip, said J.P. Trottier of Ottawa Paramedic Service. There were 60 kids on board, all aged seven or eight. Nine were assessed at the scene and eight taken to the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario, he said. None of the injuries were serious.
Innes eastbound was reduced to one lane while police investigate the collision. Drivers are being asked to avoid the area.
