Gatineau Police will be setting up a command post at the intersection of Chemin Eardley and Boulevard Allumettières today in an attempt to collect information relating to the killing of Amanda Trottier and Travis Votour, both 23, in January.

Police said they have recently received new evidence related to the case and are hoping to corroborate that evidence and possibly even collect more information by speaking to people living in the area. They said they would remain at the intersection all day Monday and would stay longer if needed.

Trottier and Votour were found slain in their Aylmer home in January. The couple’s three year old toddler was found safe, playing a bedroom upstairs. The two were known to police: Votour was charged with drug possession in July 2013, according to court records.

However, a lack of details related to the investigation has led to speculation over drug connections, rumours and a litany of unanswered questions. The establishment of a command centre at the intersection near the home suggests that police may be moving closer to solving the case.
