Help!!!

My computer OS is crushed. Who can help me? I hope to keep the data on the HD, but if MI, I still wish to make the computer work.

98, I try to fix the network adapter, then it says restart, then resume failure then can't restart

Cpu and HD and everything stops at the starting pic

start with safe mode and check if the network adaptor drive is install. if not, install it. check the network adaptor if there is any device that has conflicts with it, if the answers is "yes", disable that device. if the problem remains, take off the network adaptor from the pc, and start the pc again to c if it's ok or nor.

what do u mean "now u can't start at all" do u c any pic? if no, do the following:
check the light of ur keyboard when u start the pc. if the light doesn't flash, that means ur mother board(cpu or both) is terminated. u have to change it. if the light flash, then check the monitor,power,hd etc

Well, I can see the pic, the bar at the bottom moves for a second, then everything stops

r u sure that u can't start with safe mode or A drive(u have to press F8 while starting, after finishing the memory exam)?if the answer is yes do following.
take off ur hd from ur pc,borrow an hd from some1 else to start the pc and put ur hd on the secondary master. install software on ur friends' hd to support double hd in 1 pc. and ........................do whatever u want to backup, then format and reinstall. after reinstalled, if the problem remains, then u might have to change ur hd or else u can try low format(repartition, retrack, etc)

insert boot disk to your floppy disk
go to cmos manually modify the floppy disk to the first place
the save the configuration
reboot pc

follow the booting step, when a:\> or C:\> came out
type sys c:<ENTER>
if that doesn't work

borrow a 98 install cd, reinstall 98, dont worry your disks wont be format.

if you do format it, go get easy recovery professional, get a new USB harddisk, install USB driver for dos, then setup a system on the harddisk. recover the lost data on your old harddisk.
