A man in his 70s was taken to hospital in critical condition after he collapsed Wednesday while shovelling snow.
Neighbours called 911 when they saw the man collapse in the driveway of his west end home around 3 p.m.
The neighbours were performing CPR on the man before paramedics took over and began “advanced resuscitative measures” and restarted the man’s heart.
The man was unconscious and not breathing on his own when he arrived at the hospital in critical condition.
Paramedics reminded residents to be careful when shovelling wet and heavy snow. Stop shovelling immediately if you experience shortness of breath or chest discomfort, paramedics say.
