Ottawa police have arrested two men after a routine traffic stop in the Bayshore area turned up a loaded firearm inside the vehicle.
According to police, officers conducted a traffic stop near Dumaurier Avenue and Ramsey Crescent at about 10:50 p.m.
During an examination of the vehicle a loaded weapon was discovered. The two men are facing numerous charges. The Ottawa police’s Guns and Gangs division have been called in to investigate.
Police would not say whether the two men arrested were involved in the recent ongoing violence on Penny Drive in the Michele Heights neighbourhood.
