Wow, a lot of pushback here against the Chinese, one of our biggest trading partners. Canadian racism is rearing its ugly head. In case people don't know, US/Canadian companies have invested heavily in China over the last several years, as an example GM, Ford and Chrysler opening many manufacturing and assembly plants there - this is not a one way street by any means. As for the hotel, obviously the Ontario Municipal Employee's fund did not think owning the Chateau was a worthwhile investment so they put it up for sale to get rid of it. Despite all the complaining on this blog about foreigners ( read Chinese ) taking over our businesses where were all those patriotic Canadians when it was time to invest their own money in their own country? Walk the walk? Would people prefer just out of spite to see the hotel shuttered with a loss of hundreds of jobs rather than being bought by a Chinese investor? I guess if it's not your job you don't care, do you?
