While the city was preparing for New Year’s Eve festivities on Wednesday night, gunfire could be heard, once again, in the city’s west end.
Police say no one was injured in the shooting that took place on Elmira Drive at just after 9 p.m.
One suspect is on the loose, but police could provide little information other than that the suspect is a male. At this point, it is not known if the the shooting was gang related, but the guns and gangs unit has been called to investigate.
Evidence of shell cases were found in the area.
This is the city’s 49th shooting of the year and comes after a spate of gun violence over the Christmas holidays.
