Ontario Provincial Police have charged two motorists found driving in the wrong direction along major roadways in Ottawa over the past several days.
On Friday, a driver was found travelling west in the eastbound lanes of Highway 417 at St. Laurent Boulevard. A minor collision occurred without injuries. A 64-year-old man was charged with driving the wrong way on a divided highway.
Then on Saturday, around 12:25 a.m., the OPP stopped a vehicle travelling south in the northbound lanes of Highway 416 just north of Fallowfield Road. The driver, a 50-year-old man from Pointe-Claire, Que., was charged with impaired driving, police said.
