A body was found in the rubble of a burned-out home west of Almonte on Thursday morning.
Ontario Provincial Police said they were called to the home on Gibson Road, which is between Almonte and Middleville, around 8:30 a.m., along with the Lanark Highlands Fire Service.
When firefighters went into the home they found a body.
Police said the home was mostly destroyed by the fire, but the cause was still under investigation.
An investigator with the Ontario Fire Marshall’s Office was also called to the scene.
