Downtown Ottawa streets reopen, package 'non-hazardous'

Ottawa police reopened downtown streets Friday after determining that a suspicious package at the Bank of Montreal at 160 Elgin street was non-hazardous.

Police were called at 11:41 a.m. and closed several streets.

The CBRNE — (chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosives) a joint team composed of Ottawa police and RCMP — conducted the investigation.
