Don't be afraid of opening your mouth. It doesn't matter if some wrong words are jumping out. They understand your situation and really don't care about your mistakes.
Even sometime you can find out their grammetical mistakes too.
Oral is just oral. Say more, learn more.
Try to have lunch at the same table with your colleagues. Talk to them bravely.
Don't be shy asking questions if you don't understand.
Pay attention to what they are chatting and remember what the words or phrases they like to use, then use them if you feel it is applicable.

不是神童，是小顽童。其实小孩子都这样，他们的语言是模仿出来的，所以说出来就地道。老顽童们的英语是学出来想出来的，所以透着那么股味儿。
老顽童不打诳语，说的是实话。
老顽童家的小顽童喜欢说话，上课老师提问，他语言不行也抢答。刚来加拿大，是老玩童出风头，三个月后，老顽童发现小顽童听的比老顽童准(小顽童来加前有点英语基础，不会说)，六个月后，有外事活动，老顽童让小顽童打头阵，一年后，在他们同学面前，小顽童不让老顽童张口，呵，呵呵。。。
去年，老玩童带小玩童参加同事们的PARTY，第二天，有两位同事问我小顽童母语是否英语。老顽童的理解是，同事们早就不以老顽童的英语为然了，今儿个找到机会婉转地说老顽童口语太赖了。
老顽童认识许多中国父母在家和孩子说英语，可怜父母心，想帮孩子尽快学英语呢，殊不知是在害孩子，学了那么一口滥英语。小孩子学英语可就是模仿呀。
