Gatineau police are looking for a key witness to a hit-and-run Saturday that sent a 15-year-old boy to hospital.
The boy was crossing La Gappe boulevard near the Gatineau Sports Centre around 5 p.m. when he was hit by an SUV. His injuries were not life-threatening.
Police said the witness they want to speak to was driving an SUV or pickup truck that could be grey and stopped at the scene of the crash. The witness and a suspect interacted twice at the scene, police said.
Another witness, who followed a suspect, convinced him to return to the scene. After about a minute back at the scene, the suspect left again, according to police.
Information from the second witness led police to arrest a 45-year-old man around 7 p.m. He was later released without charge.
Anyone with information can call Gatineau police Sgt. Michel Tremblay at 819-243-2345, ext. 6236.
