The man accused in the triple murder of a retired tax judge, his wife and a neighbour had a sawed-off semi-automatic rifle and a pump-action shotgun that were allegedly obtained by crime, new court documents allege.
On the same day Ian Bush was charged with three counts of first-degree murder, police also laid 11 firearms-related charges after seizing the two guns from his Orléans home during the execution of a search warrant.
The court documents don’t reveal how Bush allegedly came into possession of the guns.
According to the court documents, the semi-automatic rifle was unloaded but ammunition was “readily accessible.”
Bush is charged with two counts each of careless storage of a firearm, possession of a dangerous weapon, unauthorized possession of a weapon, possession of a prohibited weapon and possession of a prohibited weapon obtained by crime. He also faces a single charge of possessing a firearm with readily accessible ammunition.
