The Madawaska Bridge in Arnprior has been closed due to heavy roadway flooding apparently caused by a water main problem.
Police are rerouting traffic along River Road back to Highway 17. Motorists are asked to avoid the area.
Work crews are on the scene to determine the cause of the flooding.
The bridge crosses the Madawaska River about one kilometre south of the Ottawa River in Arnprior, about 45 kilometres west of Ottawa.
