Ottawa police closed Wellington Street in both directions from Booth Street to the Portage Bridge on Thursday night after a two-vehicle crash left one car on its roof and a woman on the ground outside the vehicle.
The Ottawa Paramedic Service says it received a call for a car crash at Booth and Wellington at about 6:15 p.m. Paramedics arrived to find a 23-year-old woman outside the overturned vehicle.
Circumstances of the crash, they said, were “not clear.”
The woman was treated for head, facial, and pelvic injuries and took her to hospital, where she was in serious but stable condition. The 30-year-old man who had been driving the car was assessed but did not need to go to the hospital.
Ottawa police were investigating.
