Paramedics were called at just after midnight on Friday to a single vehicle collision on West Hunt Club between Merivale Road and Woodroffe Avenue.
A 23-year-old male driver was trapped in his vehicle after it hit a tree.
The vehicle was travelling at a high rate of speed and sustained significant damage in the crash, paramedics said in a release.
Paramedics treated the man at the scene while Ottawa fire crews worked to extricate the man from the vehicle. The patient suffered undetermined injuries and was in serious but stable condition at arrival at hospital.
Ottawa Police Service is investigating the incident.
