Police are investigating after a gun was fired in the Hintonburg neighbourhood Wednesday morning.
Neither of the two people at home was injured. One of them heard a shot about 1:55 a.m., police say. The Guns and Gangs Unit is investigating.
Officers arriving at the scene found “evidence of a single bullet hole and the corresponding projectile” near a first-floor window.
Police won’t say where the shooting occurred, except that it was in the “1 to 100″ block of Grant Street. Grant is a one-block street that runs east off Parkdale Avenue, north of Wellington Street.
It’s believed to be Ottawa’s ninth shooting of 2015.
Anyone with information is asked to call guns and gangs at 613-236-1222, ext. 5050. Anonymous tips can be submitted to Crime Stoppers toll free at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), or by downloading the Ottawa police iOS app.
