Just to be clear: I've never wanted to rent your steam vaccum.
p.s. I was not impressed with your attitude. This is not a place for nonsense querrels. So watch your mouth. :o

why you ask"how about $10/day"? doesn't it mean that you wanted to rent, does it?

是你 无缘无故的笑话我:YOU ARE INTERESTING的把?? 谁在说NONSENSE啊?

I thought $10/day would make a fair price to most Chinese, but it didn't mean that I'd like to rent your machine, you misunderstood me. My intention and attitude were friendly, you took it the wrong way. Anyway, why don't we stop right here.

Like I said, if you intend to help your fellow Chinese, you are more than welcome, otherwise, contact Riven for a quote on commercial ads.

我哪里说过要help your fellow Chinese?

It's a judgement call. I thought $10/day is fair, here are my reasons:

1. You are not a legitimate business, you don't pay federal/provincial/municipal taxes, you don't incur any inventory costs, and you don't have to offer any kind of warranty on this service. In short it is an under-the-table business transaction.
2. Your machine is probably not comparable to the kind of commerical steam vaccum that is on rent at Loblaws or Home Depot.
3. God know where you are located (I'm guessing Hull), whereas the big retailers have branches all over Canada. Add the extra cost on gas, 50% off the after-tax rental price doesn't seem that advantageous any more.

So just be reasonable, and do the business out of your helping spirit and not out of the desire to make money. That's all I'm asking.

p.s. Your name is "reason", can you be reasonable?

I wasn't avoiding your questions. I've already told you, my intentions were friendly. I was actually making a joke in regards to your "$15 firm", I thought that was pretty funny. You took it the wrong way.

So, do you still think that your $15/day is reasonable?

Re. Taxes. What about the deals done at the garage sales or flea markets? nobody pays taxes there.

Re. Attitude. To be fair, the gal above sounds pretty much like a bully.

Re. Good samaritan. 这是哪儿跟哪儿啊?Don't see life being endangered here, or anybody in need of being rescued.

to raison: How about $12/day? If you are near west ottawa, I am interested.

I only mentioned the taxes because raison was comparing his/her price with that of big retailers. So I wanted to point out that his/her cost is much much lower, if there is any. You just proved my point: stuff at garage sales are selling at the fraction of that it would cost in the big retailers. Before you are calling me a bully, use your brain.

Do you have the slightest idea what samaritan means?

Cited from Canadian Encyclopedia:
"Good Samaritan
any person who is unselfish in helping others. Din the Bible, a traveller who rescued and cared for another traveller who had been beaten and robbed by thieves

You said it. A good samaritan is one who's willing to unselfishly help others. Nobody uses this term purely in reference to the bible. Duh!
